Happy Ever After

They didn’t get the chance back then.

There was something always holding them back – people, circumstances, time. Life had passed them by and so had their chances.

It seemed like not everybody deserved a happy ever after. He was gone too soon. She had to live on without him.

It’s been one too many years and the time was drawing near for her this time. She had no one around her – no family, no friends. But she didn’t mind.

She closed her eyes and she saw his face, smiling at her.

Maybe she’d get her happy ever after, after all.
