She feels
smaller and smaller as the seconds go by.
She pulls her
feet off the floor, bringing her legs closer to her chest.
The room is
cold. She is alone.
She hugs her
legs closer to her chest and curls into a ball, much like how she’s done
whenever she’s scared, nervous, upset, in tears.
She can feel her
body trembling yet she does not uncurl herself. She remains that way. Somehow,
it makes her feel safer. She’s in her own little ball, her own little world.
She stays that
way, waiting for any news from the emergency room.
